1. What are Instant E. coli and Instant Salmonella Strips?

MMS Rapid Detection Instant E. Coli and Instant Salmonella strips are rapids assay strip that are administered on food, surfaces (moist), and in water to determine if there are harmful levels of E. Coli or Salmonella present. These are two distinct products, one for E. coli and one for Salmonella.

2. How long do I have to wait for the results?

Although the results are fast, we recommend after following the simple procedure that you wait no more than 20 minutes for the process to complete and the results to be shown.

3. Is it hard to use?

The product is designed for front line workers to use with easy step methods to allow simple explanation for product use. The method is a simple 5 step process that anyone can learn by reading the easy directions.

4. Is it expensive?

Surprisingly, the product is relatively inexpensive. Retailers are selling the product for around $3.00 per strip. One bottle contains 25 strips, reagent drops, and instructions.

5. Are there cut off levels for Salmonella and E. coli that are harmful to humans?

The product is designed to detect 50-75 Colony Forming Units (CFUs) for Salmonella and 75-100 Colony Forming Units (CFUs) in E. coli which are definite harmful levels of exposure.

*6. What is the most common mistake people make when using your instant E.coli and instant Salmonella tests?

The most common mistake is that customers do not follow the directions. The most important part in using our test product is the use of the *REAGENT* (the buffer solution) when performing the test. The reagent is in every kit we sell. IF THE REAGENT ISN'T USED THE TEST WON'T WORK.

NOTICE TO LABS: Please do not test our product on Salmonella or E.coli grown in or taken from suspension fluid. Suspension fluid seems to interfere with the reagent. It is better to get your Salmonella or E.coli from natural sources. If you need further assistance, please call our office and we will be happy to assist you.
